With The 2025 JUNO Awards fast approaching, excitement is building for Canada’s Biggest Night in Music. JUNO Week will take place in Vancouver from March 27-30, and as we prepare for another unforgettable experience, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude to PwC Canada. For 16 years, PwC has been a trusted partner of The JUNO Awards, and their support has been crucial in ensuring the nomination and voting processes are fair, secure, and seamless.
Every artist’s JUNO journey begins with a simple but significant step –the submission of their work for consideration. The exceptions are the fan-voted TikTok JUNO Fan Choice Award, which is determined by social and consumption data, and Single of the Year Presented by YouTube, which is based on radio audience and consumption data.
Once submissions are received, they are reviewed by our Music Advisory Committees, which help ensure that submissions meet eligibility requirements and are placed in the most suitable categories.
Each committee is led by Chairs and Co-Chairs who assemble a team of 10-12 members that:
Committees review submissions within their designated category to ensure they meet eligibility requirements and are appropriately placed. If a committee believes a submission would be a better fit in a different category, they may suggest a change, but the final decision remains with the artist.
After the committees have thoroughly reviewed all submissions, the process advances to Round 1 Voting. CARAS Academy Delegates and judges are then given five weeks to listen to each project and submit their confidential votes online. PwC plays a crucial role in this stage, ensuring every vote is counted accurately and securely. Additionally, PwC compiles consumption data from radio and social media platforms for categories such as Single of the Year Presented by YouTube.
The top five nominees in each category or 10 nominees in the case of Breakthrough Artist or Group of the Year Presented by FACTOR, the Government of Canada, and Canada’s Private Radio Broadcasters, are then announced publicly, a moment that was celebrated at this year’s JUNO Nominee Celebration which took place on February 11th. For 2025, there are 208 unique nominees across 46 categories.
After the first round of voting, CARAS Academy Delegates and judges have one week to cast their votes, determining the final winners in each category. PwC plays a crucial role in this process, ensuring that all votes are accurately tabulated. The process culminates during JUNO Week, when the winners, verified and confirmed by PwC will take home their prestigious JUNO statuette, either at The JUNO Awards Gala Presented by Music Canada on Saturday, March 29th, or at The 2025 JUNO Awards Broadcast and live stream on Sunday, March 30th.
The JUNO Awards are built on a thorough, transparent, and meticulous nomination process, and this would not be possible without the invaluable support of PwC. Throughout every round of voting, PwC ensures that all voting data is carefully and securely tabulated, maintaining an impartial process and upholding the integrity of The JUNO Awards.
As we look forward to another exciting JUNO celebration, we’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to PwC Canada for their enduring support and invaluable contribution to The JUNO Awards. Here’s to another year of celebrating Canadian talent!
