How to Make the JUNOS Johnnie Walker Highball Cocktail - The JUNO Awards

Warm, rich, and uniquely Canadian, the JUNOS Johnnie Walker Highball cocktail is the perfect drink for celebrating 50 years of Canada’s Biggest Night in Music. 

Created by James Grant, the national winner of the World Class Canada bartending competition, this signature cocktail is a brilliant combination of sparkling maple water, spiced pear cordial, and Johnnie Walker’s Black Label Blended Scotch Whisky. Now you can enjoy the official cocktail of the 50th JUNO Awards at home with this simple recipe.

JUNOS Johnnie Walker Highball

  • 1.5oz Johnnie Walker Black Label
  • 0.75oz Spiced Pear Cordial*
  • 3oz Sparkling Maple Water
  • Build in an ice-filled Collins glass and garnish with a dehydrated lemon wheel

* Spiced Pear Cordial:

Roughly chop 2 Bosc pears and combine in a non-reactive container with 500g of sugar, the zest of 1 lemon, 1/8 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1/8 teaspoon ground mace, and 1/4 teaspoon of ground black pepper. Allow to macerate overnight. Combine with 250g of water over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Strain through a fine mesh strainer and add 1/2 teaspoon of citric acid powder and 1/2 teaspoon of malic acid powder. Stir to combine and bottle. Keep refrigerated.

  • 2oz Spiced Pear Cordial*
  • 3oz Sparkling maple water
