Brooklyn-based jazz chanteuse Laura Anglade was born in the south of France and raised between the U.S. and Canada. She brings grace and nuance to every phrase, her conversational style bridging singer and listener with warmth and intimacy. Rooted in simplicity and nostalgia, her performances reflect a deep appreciation for the past and for finding wonder in ordinary moments. Trained in classical voice from an early age, Laura found her true calling through the Great American Songbook, drawing inspiration from Ella Fitzgerald, Shirley Horn, Carmen McRae, and Blossom Dearie. French influences—Michel Legrand, Charles Trenet, Barbara, and Jeanne Moreau—anchor her love of chanson and shape her distinctive cross-Atlantic sound. Her 2022 album Venez Donc Chez Moi earned a Juno nomination, followed by the Prix Opus for Jazz Concert of the Year in 2023. An international touring artist, Laura has graced stages from Paris’ Olympia and London’s Royal Festival Hall to New York’s Town Hall and the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal, and toured in support of Melody Gardot and Gregory Porter. Her third album, Get Out of Town (Nettwerk Music Group), released May 23, 2025, has received widespread acclaim and introduced her to a growing global audience. She recently appeared on Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show Me Music” performing her luminous take on the Rodgers & Hart classic “Manhattan.
