Caity Gyorgy

Caity Gyorgy is a 2 time JUNO award winning Canadian vocalist known for singing bebop and swing music. She has performed at jazz clubs and festivals across Canada, Mexico, Japan and the USA and has worked and recorded with incredible musicians including Christine Jensen, Pat LaBarbera, Jocelyn Gould, Ira Coleman, and Joe LaBarbera, to name a few.

In addition to performing, Caity is an award winning songwriter and composes in the style of the Great American Songbook. She is also a sought after clinician and is currently on faculty at the Yukon Summer Music Camp in Whitehorse, YT and the Interprovincial Music Camp in McKellar, ON.

She is currently signed to Brooklyn based label La Reserve Records and has released several albums of original and standard music with them including her two JUNO award winning albums “Now Pronouncing” and “Featuring”. Her most recent album “You’re Alike, You Two”, a collection of Jerome Kern compositions performed with renowned pianist, composer, and arranger Mark Limacher, was released on July 21st, 2023 and has gained international recognition for its unadorned presentation and fresh adaptations of the classic repertoire of Jerome Kern.

Mark Limacher

Mark Limacher is a composer, improviser, arranger, and genre-crossing pianist currently based in Calgary, Canada. He is a graduate of New School University in New York City, and has studied privately with composers Linda Catlin Smith (Toronto) and Laurence Crane (London, UK). In 2013 he served as apprentice to composer Bunita Marcus in Brooklyn, NY.

His compositions are centered around works for solo instruments and small ensembles. In 2022 he was invited to be an Artist in Residence for the Festival of the Sound’s Music Scores 2022, featured by the National Arts Centre as part of their Music Alive program. His arrangements and orchestrations have been heard in collaboration with vocalists Caity Gyorgy, vocalist & playwright Allison Lynch, vocalist Ellen Doty, Kensington Sinfonia, Theater Calgary, and the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.
