West Coast Canadian-Taiwanese singer-songwriter Ginalina, is a two-time JUNO nominated children’s and family musician, and published children’s author. Her music features winsome vocals, catchy melodies, and memorable folk arrangements (accordion, banjo, cavaquinho, cello, guitars, violin, and more) that are fun and sophisticated. Her songs centre deeply on community, courage, environmental stewardship, and how every child brings value that can help the world. Ginalina performs in French, English, and Mandarin for (live and virtual) festivals, theatres, and events in Canada and abroad.
Since 2016, Ginalina’s albums have received consistent industry recognition including: two JUNO and three CFMA nominations, two WCMA Artist of the Year awards, and eight international prizes from Parents’ Choice and the National Parenting Publications Awards. Her collection of “Ginalina’s Music Club” videos reach over one million viewers in Canada, USA, and Asia.
Ginalina believes in using music to support meaningful causes; she donates ten percent of sales to refugee families (Journey Home) and environmental conservation initiatives (A Rocha Canada). During this difficult season of COVID-19, Ginalina continues to offer concerts, connections, and grant coaching support for musicians, especially emerging and under-represented musicians, through strategic local, provincial, and national partnerships.
