2019 INSTRUMENTAL ALBUM OF THE YEAR | Aerialists | | The JUNO Awards

Aerialists meld ferociously creative harmonic sensibilities and a deep love for folk traditions into a post-rock coloured sound called "prog-trad." A collaboration of guitarist Adam Iredale-Gray (Fish & Bird), lever harpist Màiri Chaimbeul (Darol Anger) and fiddler Elise Boeur (Jenny Ritter), the group formed at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Since the group's debut in 2014, Aerialists have toured across Canada, the US, the UK and Europe. Working with bassists and drummers who share their fascination with craft and harmony, they draw from the wells of Nordic and Gaelic music, adding expansive textures and meticulously sculpted arrangements to create captivating, genre-defying new music.

Nominated for a 2018 Canadian Folk Music Award for Best Emerging Artist, the new album Group Manoeuvre is a powerful collection of neo-folk compositions and stellar musicianship inhabiting a world all its own.
