Erik West Millette is a multi-disciplinary musician with more than 50 albums to his production credit; he has played on more than 200 recordings.
A sought-after composer for film projects, theatre and sound environments, he has also acted as musical director for numerous multimedia projects at CBC Radio and Television.
Able to create his own instruments, Erik also creates artistic installations using his skills as a composer, producer and arranger. He has collaborated with such well-known musicians such as Doctor John, Willie West, Harry Van Walls, Bia, Betty Bonifassi, Lhasa de Sela, Nanette Workman, Mary Jo Thério, Richard Séguin, Robert Seven Crows, Jordan Officer and Thomas Hellman, in the studio and on the road.
2013 was a banner year for this talented artist, with a Jutra award for best original music for the soundtrack of Camion from director Rafaël Ouellet.
Erik’s 2015 project, West Trainz, has captivated him for nearly 20 years. The grand concept unfolds in several forms – a roving performance using music sculptures, a multimedia performance in a concert venue, and a CD-book. All of West Trainz’s branches stem back to trains – their visual, auditory and travel components.
