Adam “Messy” Messinger is a Grammy-winning Canadian producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist currently based in Los Angeles. Born and raised in Toronto, Messinger was enrolled at Claude Watson School for the Arts from grade 4 to 13, followed by the music program at York University, where he was awarded the Oscar Peterson Scholarship for Jazz studies two years consecutively. Shifting focus towards studio production, he later received Juno nominations in 2001 and 2006 for his work with a cappella group Cadence.
In recent years, his partnership with fellow Canadian singer/songwriter Nasri (known as “The Messengers”) has functioned as a writing/production team for a wide scope of artists, including Justin Bieber, Iggy Azalea, Shakira, Pitbull, Christina Aguilera, Chris Brown, Michael Bolton, Lea Michele, The Wanted and New Kids On The Block. Among other awards, The Messengers’ work has resulted in two Grammy nominations in 2011, and a Grammy win in 2012 for Best R&B Album – Chris Brown (F.A.M.E.).
Messinger’s other credits include 2013’s hit “Feel This Moment” by Pitbull ft Christina Aguilera, Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never”, “All Around the World”, and “Mistletoe”, Chris Brown’s “Don’t Judge Me”, and worldwide hit debut single “Rude” by reggae-pop band Magic!.
