Graduated in literature at the University of Quebec, son of an accountant, he became storyteller by accident after being rocked by stories of his grandmother, his neighbor and his father Eugene. Just 30 years and over 2,000 professional performances of his three creations through the international francophonie.

Having won a Felix for traditional album of the year in 2008 for his album FRED AND NICOLAS PELLERIN, NOVEMBER 24TH, Fred Pellerin released his solo album SILENCE. The album went Gold after just two weeks on the market and platinum two weeks later! To date, more than 135,000 copies sold! For this album, Fred received several music awards : Felix 2010 for Folk Album of the year (WINNER), Male Vocalist of the Year and Sound/Mixing of the Year(WINNER) for his album SILENCE.
In summer 2010, Fred gave only 12 exclusive performances in his village, Saint-Élie-de-Caxton, and just received several prizes from the Quebec music awards : Félix 2011 for the Show of the Year – interpreter/scriptor/director.
