2012 | Francophone Album of the Year | Coeur de Pirate | | The JUNO Awards

Coeur de pirate is the solo project of award-winning singer and pianist Beatrice Martin. Martin has been playing piano and keyboards since she was only 3 years old, and released her internationally-acclaimed self-titled debut album in 2008. North American and European tours followed, as did studio collaborations with Kardinal Official and David Usher. This led to two Felix Awards in 2009 and 2010, and a 2010 Victoire de la Musique Award for Song of the Year. She has also been nominated for a JUNO and long-listed for the Polaris Prize. After appearing on Bedouin Soundclash’s 2010 album LIGHT THE HORIZON, she further collaborated with Jay Malinowski on a 5-track EP entitled ARMISTICE, released earlier this year. She also appears in theatres across France as the voice of the new Smurfette. Martin is now set to release her highly-anticipated sophomore effort, BLONDE, co-produced by Beatrice Martin and Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire, Basia Bulat, The Dears).
