JUNO Week takes over Toronto May 9-15, additional details revealed for Canada’s biggest week in music

TORONTO – The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) today announced additional details for JUNO Week events taking place May 9-15 in Toronto, ON. The festivities culminate with The 2022 JUNO Awards Broadcast on May 15, which will broadcast live from Budweiser Stage on Sunday, May 15 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT nationwide on CBC TV, CBC Radio One and CBC Music, and stream live on CBC Gem, CBC Listen, and globally at CBCMusic.ca/junos, and CBC Music’s Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages.  

Below are the latest updates to the 2022 JUNO Week events coming to Toronto:

  • The 2022 JUNO Awards Broadcast, hosted by Simu Liu, will feature 11 unforgettable performances from some of Canada’s most iconic names in music including Arcade Fire, Arkells, Avril Lavigne, bbno$, Charlotte Cardin, DJ Shub & Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Haviah Mighty, Lauren Spencer-Smith, Mustafa and Tesher. Former Toronto Raptors superstar turned music producer Chris Bosh will be making his first appearance at The JUNO Awards to induct Deborah Cox into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.   • JUNO Songwriters’ Circle, Presented by SOCAN and FACTOR in association with Music Publishers Canada, adds new artists to its performance lineup including Allison Russell, Metric, Mustafa, and Devon and Connor from Half Moon Run. The first live iteration of the show in three years, the ‘Jewel of JUNO Week’ will be hosted by CBC Q’s Tom Power and will offer untapped insight into the making of some of Canada’s most iconic songs. Tickets for JUNO Songwriters’ Circle are available for purchase online at https://masseyhall.mhrth.com/. Tickets start at $18.94 plus fees and taxes. 
  • JUNO Stories from the Studio, announced its host will be radio mainstay, Lana Gay. This panel discussion with JUNO Award-nominated engineers, producers, and special guests offers a look into the creative process behind Canada’s most iconic songs and albums. Tickets are free and available here

JUNO Songwriters’ CIrcle

What: The ‘Jewel of the JUNOS’ returns, live and in-person! See Canada’s top songwriters, and 2022 JUNO nominees, come together on stage for a night of intimate conversations and stripped-down performances. Hear personal stories and anecdotes behind some of the biggest songs. This event is surely a must for any music fan!
