As we bid farewell to a luminary and true character in our industry, let us take solace in the knowledge that Pegi Cecconi’s legacy will endure through the countless lives she touched and the everlasting imprint she left on Canadian music. May her spirit continue to inspire and uplift us all as we carry forward her remarkable legacy with pride and gratitude. A master in her field, Cecconi was a determined businesswoman who had over 50 years of experience in the music industry. Her roles ranged from booking, legal and all aspects of artist management including publishing, recording, record production and merchandising. In 2020, she became the recipient of the Walt Grealis Special Achievement Award and throughout her life she was an active member of the music industry, sitting on Boards at the Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA), FACTOR, Independent Digital Licensing Agency (IDLA), and the Canadian Musical Reproduction Rights Agency (CMRRA). She will be missed but her sense of humour and incredible laugh will linger with us forever.
