COMPENSATION: $17.60/hour, paid biweekly

ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

CARAS was created to preserve and enhance the Canadian music industry and to contribute towards higher artistic and industry standards. CARAS’ mandate is comprised of four key pillars: Educate through our music education charity MusiCounts’ programs and initiatives, Develop emerging artists through mentorship and development programs, Celebrate Canadian artists through The JUNO Awards and other year-round initiatives, and Honour music industry icons through the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

OVERALL POSITION 

The Junior Content Creator (Intern) will support the creation, editing, and publishing of digital content across The JUNO Awards, Canadian Music Hall of Fame, and related CARAS channels. This role offers hands-on experience in producing engaging social media content, assisting with video shoots, and helping bring campaigns and cultural moments to life online.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in brainstorming, planning, and producing content for social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook.
  • Edit short-form videos and social clips optimized for 9:16 and 1:1 formats.
  • Help capture and organize behind-the-scenes footage, artist interviews, and event moments.
  • Support the creation of copy, captions, and hashtags for posts and campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the design and video teams to adapt creative for social use.
  • Track trending sounds, styles, and moments relevant to the JUNO and Canadian music community.
  • Assist with day-of social coverage during key events and content shoots.
  • Provide additional support as needed, including basic website updates and content management.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms and trends, particularly TikTok and Instagram Reels.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, or other video editing software.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, creativity, and willingness to experiment with new ideas.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet quick turnaround deadlines.
  • Experience with photography or content creation, and a basic understanding of analytics or engagement metrics, is an asset but not required.
