DESCRIPTION

Reporting to Senior Manager, Digital Media, the Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for crafting compelling and well-researched daily content for the CARAS social media accounts, including The JUNO Awards, MusiCounts and Canadian Music Hall of Fame.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research, write and edit internal and external communications
  • Work closely with Manager, Marketing & Communications on the MusiCounts team to ensure consistent brand voice on MusiCounts channels.
  • Create engaging blog posts and social media content
  • Maintain content calendars
  • Support and protect the JUNO Awards and MusiCounts brands by ensuring positive and relevant messaging is maintained
  • Label and update Twitter and Facebook Media Library and Content Studio
  • Create and execute real-time social media content during JUNO Week
  • Ensure all social media partnership deliverables have been met and complete post reports
  • Become a subject matter expert in Canadian music, The JUNO Awards and MusiCounts

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • In-depth working knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube
  • Basic video editing skills required 
  • Experience with Google Docs, Google Analytics, HootSuite, and WordPress
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator

SOFT SKILLS

  • Experience working in media, live events and/or entertainment
  • Ability to think creatively and bring ideas to life in social media
  • Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines
  • Strong storytelling skills, including verbal and written 
  • Strong understanding of tone, and an ability to cater messaging to different audiences 
  • Adaptability, quick learning capability and can work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • A strong believer in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

OTHER

  • Bilingualism an asset
  • Comfortable with uncertainty/ambiguity
  • Possess an understanding of the music and/or cultural industries is an asset
