Winners Announced for The 2025 JUNO Awards Gala Presented by Music Canada and 54th Annual JUNO Awards, live on CBC

Tate McRae takes home four awards for Single of the Year Presented by YouTube, Album of the Year Presented by Music Canada, Artist of the Year Presented by SiriusXM Canada and Pop Album of the Year.

 

Special honours were presented to Anne Murray, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award Presented by the National Arts Centre, and Sum 41, who delivered a historic final performance and were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame by Joel and Benji Madden of Good Charlotte. Their induction was presented by JUNOS’ Premier Sponsor, TD. The evening also featured  memorable sets from Aqyila, Josh Ross, Nemahsis, Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Tia Wood, and more!

 

The International Achievement Award was awarded to superstar producer Boi-1da, and singer-songwriter and environmental activist Sarah Harmer was honoured with the Humanitarian Award.

VANCOUVER, BC – The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) and CBC celebrated Canada’s Biggest Night in Music this weekend at The 2025 JUNO Awards. Hosted by beloved, multi-Platinum Superstar and 15-Time JUNO Award Winner Michael Bublé, the Awards were broadcast from Rogers Arena in Vancouver on CBC TV, CBC Gem, CBC Radio One, CBC Music, CBC Listen, and globally at CBCMusic.ca/junos and CBC Music’s YouTube page. The JUNO Awards Gala included the presentation of over 40 JUNO Awards.

Canadian pop sensation Tate McRae emerged as the year’s biggest winner, taking home four awards, including her first JUNO Award for Album of the Year Presented by Music Canada and Pop Album of the Year, both for THINK LATER. She also earned Single of the Year Presented by YouTube for her hit “exes” and Artist of the Year Presented by SiriusXM Canada.

Performers Aqyila, Josh Ross, Nemahsis, and Snotty Nose Rez Kids each made a powerful impact on The JUNOS this year, not only with standout performances but also by taking home JUNO Awards. Aqyila earned Contemporary R&B Recording of the Year for Bloom, while Josh Ross took home his first JUNO for Complicated (Country Album of the Year Presented by Music Canada). Nemahsis made her JUNO debut in a big way, winning both Breakthrough Artist or Group of the Year Presented by FACTOR, The Government of Canada and Canada’s Private Radio Broadcasters and Alternative Album of the Year for Interlude (When a Thought Grows Wings). Snotty Nose Rez Kids also claimed their first JUNO Award with RED FUTURE winning Rap Album/EP of the Year.

Mustafa earned double recognition for his powerful visual storytelling, winning both Music Video of the Year and Songwriter of the Year Presented by SOCAN for his deeply personal work on “Name of God” and other tracks from his album Dunya

The inaugural year for South Asian Music Recording of the Year Presented by TD was won by AP Dhillon and Lowell took home the first Songwriter of the Year (Non-Performer) Presented by SOCAN award for her work with The Beaches and Beyoncé. 

The JUNO Awards Gala Presented by Music Canada on March 29, shone a spotlight on Canadian rising stars, with 25 Awards going to first-time winners: collectif9 (Classical Album of the Year (Small Ensemble), Jeremy Ledbetter Trio (Jazz Album of the Year (Group), Intervals (Instrumental Album of the Year), Big Dave McLean (Blues Album of the Year), Jake Vaadeland (Traditional Roots Album of the Year), Kaia Kater (Contemporary Roots Album of the Year), Nemahsis (Breakthrough Artist of the Year Presented by FACTOR, The Government of Canada and Canada’s Private Radio Broadcasters/Alternative Album of the Year), NOBRO (Rock Album of the Year). Maïa Davies (Adult Contemporary Album of the Year), Interplanetary Criminal & SadBoi (Dance Recording of The Year), Ciel (Underground Dance Single of the Year), Priori (Electronic Album of the Year Presented by Nissan), Snotty Nose Rez Kids (Rap Album/EP of the Year), THEHONESTGUY (Traditional R&B/Soul Recording of the Year), Debra DiGiovanni (Comedy Album of the Year Presented by SiriusXM Canada), Black Bear Singers (Traditional Indigenous Artist or group of the Year), Sebastian Gaskin (Contemporary Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year Presented By Destination Indigenous), Klô Pelgag (Francophone Album of the Year), Ryan Ofei (Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album of the Year), AP Dhillon (South Asian Music Recording of the Year Presented by TD), Keenan Gregory (Album Artwork of the Year), Jack Rochon (Jack Richardson Producer of the Year Presented by Audio-Technica), Deantha Edmunds (Classical Composition of the Year), Lowell (Songwriter of the Year (Non-Performer) Presented BY SOCAN) and Josh Ross (Country Album of the Year Presented by Music Canada).

The Toronto Symphony Orchestra added to its legacy with a sixth JUNO Award win this weekend, while acclaimed rock band The Beaches secured their fifth career JUNO and second consecutive win for Group of the Year presented by Sirius XM Canada. Artists making their JUNO Awards debut performances this year included Aqyila, Jonita Ghandi, Nemahsis, Peach Pit, Roxane Bruneau, Tia Wood, Chani Nattan, Inderpal Moga, Jazzy B & GMINXR.

The TikTok JUNO Fan Choice Award, the only fan-voted category of the JUNO Awards, was awarded to bbno$, celebrating their dedicated fanbase and viral impact across digital platforms.
