Features Aqyila, Tebey, and Aaron Paris & Strings From Paris in genre-defying performances. Produced by CARAS’ In-House Content Team.
TORONTO – The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) is thrilled to unveil Re/Worked: The Greedy Sessions, a three-part video series, funded by Ontario Creates, that reimagines Tate McRae’s JUNO-winning single “greedy” through innovative genre transformations. Each episode showcases the unique artistry of emerging and established talents, featuring R&B sensation Aqyila (2025 JUNO Nominee, Traditional R&B/Soul Recording of the Year, and Contemporary R&B Recording of the Year), viral country hitmaker Tebey, and Grammy-nominated record producer, songwriter and composer Aaron Paris (2025 JUNO Nominee, Jack Richardson Producer of the Year Presented by Audio-Technica Canada) with his ensemble Strings From Paris, offering fresh interpretations of the hit song.
Series Release Schedule:
- Episode 1: Aqyila brings a sultry R&B take on “greedy”. Available now!
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Aqyila delivers a steamy, smooth R&B rendition of “greedy” that perfectly captures the spirit of the occasion. “It’s such a fun song!” shares Aqyila. “I started adding in some really cool vocal harmonies around the hook—I wanted it to sound like a choir.” Drawing from her Gospel influences, she layered dramatic elements to create a lush, seductive take on the track. “That’s the whole fun purpose of Re/Worked. You’re taking a piece of art and reworking it into another piece of art. If people like it and feel the vibe, that’s even better.” - Episode 2: Tebey delivers a heartfelt country twist. Available Friday, February 21.
“For me, I try to make it sound different, and changing the groove of the song is the biggest part of it because that’ll give it its own identity,” explains Tebey. “At the end of the day, a great song should work in any genre of music, and this song definitely works as a country song.” Tebey incorporates traditional country instrumentation, including steel guitar, banjo, and acoustic guitar, to create an authentic yet innovative rendition. Fans can stream audio of Tebey’s country version of “greedy” on all major DSPs starting Friday, February 21. - Episode 3: Aaron Paris & Strings From Paris bring an orchestral masterpiece to life. Available Friday, February 28.
“I first started this composition finding fragments from the original pop song that I could take and develop on,” says first-time JUNO nominee Aaron Paris. “One thing that classical music is based on is taking ideas, motifs, and fragments and developing them, telling a story with those ideas.” Paris hopes the performance will inspire audiences to see the connections between classical and pop music. “I hope they get immersed into this classical world and maybe discover composers they haven’t heard of before. Classical music can be just as fun and relatable as pop songs.” Fans can experience Aaron Paris & Strings From Paris’ orchestral audio transformation of “greedy” on all major DSPs starting Friday, February 28.
All episodes of Re/Worked: The Greedy Sessions will premiere exclusively on The JUNO Awards’ official YouTube channel. Viewers can explore the full series by visiting junoawards.ca/reworked.
“Re/Worked: The Greedy Sessions exemplifies the spirit of artistic innovation by celebrating the versatility of Canadian talent,” said Allan Reid, President & CEO of CARAS/JUNO Awards. “This series highlights the creative potential of music when reimagined through diverse lenses.”
Tate McRae, one of the top nominees at the 2025 JUNO Awards with five nominations, continues to dominate the charts, making “greedy” the perfect track to be reimagined by this diverse lineup of artists.
