Lido Pimienta is originally from Colombia and is currently living in Toronto, Canada. She was awarded a Polaris Prize for her 2017 album La Papessa which was released upon much critical acclaim. In 2020, Pimienta released her breakthrough album Miss Colombia on Anti- Records which was a tribute to her home country and its people. Miss Colombia received praise from The New York Times, NPR, Pitchfork and Remezcla, and was nominated for 2021 GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY awards. Also in 2021, Pimienta became the first woman of color to compose a piece of music for The New York City Ballet, a collaboration with choreographer Andrea Miller. In 2022 LIDO TV debuted, a sketch comedy show with guest appearances from Kittie and Nelly Furtado. Additionally, Lido Pimienta is cited as an A&R for Furtado’s latest album.
