Robby Hoffman is currently on HBO Max’s Hacks, where she earned an Emmy nomination. The Daily Beast called her “the future of comedy,” while The Wall Street Journal hailed her as “an original comic talent.” Robby also has a prominent role in HBO’s upcoming Steve Carell series, and the network is also developing Unentitled, a starring vehicle that she will also write and EP. She can also be seen in a standout role on FX’s buzzy limited series Dying for Sex, playing opposite Michelle Williams.
The New York Times has compared Robby’s “bulldozing stand-up” to Larry David, noting her “mountain-out-of-a-molehill kvetching, but her hilarious rage makes her sound like a modern lesbian Andrew ‘Dice’ Clay.” The Times also praised her podcast Too Far as an “addictive listen.”
Robby was named one of Variety’s “10 Comics to Watch” this year and made waves with her attention-grabbing set on Netflix’s Verified. She previously filmed the special I’m Nervous, which aired on CraveTV in Canada to great acclaim. Additionally, Robby is an Emmy-winning TV writer. She has written for The Chris Gethard Show (TruTV), Workin’ Moms (Netflix), Baroness Von Sketch Show (IFC), and Odd Squad (PBS).
