Infusion Baroque captivates audiences with a dynamic blend of historical music and theatrical storytelling, performing works from the seventeenth to twentieth centuries on period instruments. The Montreal-based ensemble, founded in 2013, quickly gained acclaim after winning the Grand and Audience Prizes at Early Music America’s Baroque Performance Competition. Since then, they have toured widely across North America, with performances at notable venues including Montreal Baroque Festival, Ottawa Chamberfest, San Francisco Early Music Society, and are set to debut in South America at Bogotá’s Teatro Mayor in 2024.
Infusion Baroque’s recordings have garnered critical acclaim. Their debut album, 1747, reached #3 on iTunes Classical, while Kreüsser was nominated for a Prix Opus. Virtuosa, featuring works by historical and contemporary women composers, accumulated over 500K streams within six months.
Since 2017, the ensemble’s “Virtuosa Project” has spotlighted historical women musicians through concerts, lectures, and two web series. Their latest project, East is East, explores cross-cultural influences in 18th-century European music and was released as an album in 2024, featuring collaborations with Eastern musicians. Through innovative programs, Infusion Baroque continues to expand the reach of early music.
