Alexander Shelley is also the Principal Associate Conductor of London’s Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. In the spring of 2019, he led the NAC Orchestra on its critically acclaimed 50th Anniversary European tour, with stops including London, Paris, Stockholm, and Copenhagen. This is his sixth recording with the NAC Orchestra, following the JUNO-nominated New Worlds, Life Reflected, ENCOUNT3RS, The Bounds of Our Dreams, and Darlings of the Muses (the first album in this series), all with label Analekta.

Canadian soprano Adrianne Pieczonka has performed on the world’s best opera and concert stages for over three decades. After studying at the University of Western Ontario and University of Toronto, she began her career at Vienna’s State Opera and has sung at La Scala, The Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Bavarian State Opera, and the Canadian Opera Company among many others.

Pianist, vocal coach, and pedagogue Liz Upchurch is currently in her 23rd season as head of the Canadian Opera Company’s Ensemble Studio, Canada’s premier training program for young opera professionals. There, she has now trained a generation of Canadian artists. She has curated, performed, and collaborated in hundreds of recitals across Canada, working alongside artists and composers such as Adrianne Pieczonka, Barbara Hannigan, Kaija Saariaho, and Ana Sokolović.
