Romina Di Gasbarro is a Toronto born singer-songwriter with a diverse music career background. Raised on Italian music, trained in classical guitar, played in a rock band, studied new-music composition, and developed into an opera singer, she earned undergraduate and Masters degrees in performance, composition, and education resulting in an artist truly beyond categories.

Risorgimento is Romina’s third release and features an all-star roster of musicians that include Elmer Ferrer, Larnell Lewis, Drew Jurecka, Ben Grossman, Francesco Pellegrino, Lucas Harris, and Roberto Occhipinti. Risorgimento is a term used to coin Italy’s unification in 1861 and takes the listener on a story-telling journey that travels through Italian historical events about the pursuit and cost of freedom in the face of good and evil.

Romina has been featured on CBC’s Big City Small World with Errol Nazareth, The Bill King Show on CIUT 89.5, The Ted Woloshyn Show on Newstalk 1010, CKIA 88.3 Radio Urbaine, Wholenote Magazine, named Favourite Things of 2018 by Roots Music Canada, and been on the Top 10 of International World Music charts from Kamloops to Montreal!

Romina is also a regular performer and collaborator with Toronto based, Neapolitan Baroque group, Vesuvius Ensemble.
