JUNO Award nominated composer Jocelyn Morlock’s music is hailed as being ”airy but rhythmic, tuneful but complex” and with “uncanny yet toothsome beauty” (Alex Varty, Georgia Straight.) Currently the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra’s Composer-in-Residence (2017), she wrote her first commission for the National Arts Centre Orchestra in 2009. A concerto for two violins and orchestra, Cobalt won the 2015 Western Canadian Music Award for Best Classical

Jocelyn Morlock has written for numerous Canadian individuals and ensembles, including Aeriosa Dance Ensemble, Brandon Chamber Players, CBC Radio Orchestra, Continuum Contemporary Music, Corey Hamm, Couloir, Duo Concertante, Emily Carr String Quartet, Fringe Percussion, Groundswell, Manitoba Chamber Orchestra, Mark Takeshi McGregor, musica intima with Steven Isserlis, Pacific Baroque Orchestra, Rachel Kiyo Iwaasa, Robyn Driedger-Klassen, Standing Wave, Tiresias Duo, Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Turning Point Ensemble, Tyler Duncan, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and Windsor Symphony. She recently won the Mayor’s Arts Award for Music in Vancouver (2016).
