2018 ALBUM OF THE YEAR | Ruth B. | | The JUNO Awards

The fabled arc of how Ruth B’s career took flight is viral legend now, but it was the stunning vocal command and riveting lyrical flair she showed on her hit debut, “Lost Boy,” now certified 4x Platinum in Canada, that won hearts and minds across the globe. Ruth B. has since emerged as a vital artist whose trademark vocal style and vivid songwriting narratives set the tone for a robust 12-song debut album, Safe Haven. Safe Haven shines as dazzling pop embroidery far surpassing first album expectations, with Rolling Stone lauding the album 3.5 stars and declaring Ruth B. “one to watch.” In early 2017, Ruth took home the JUNO Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year and a BMI Pop Award for “Lost Boy.” Shortly after the 2017 JUNO Awards, Ruth performed at the Governor General Performing Arts Awards honoring fellow Canadian crooner, Michael Bublé, with a special tribute of his song “Home.” She also helped a full roster of Canadian talent induct songwriting legend Neil Young into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, with a special tribute of “Heart of Gold.” Ruth is currently working on new material for her sophomore album.
