Fortunate Ones is a Canadian pop-folk duo made up of singer/guitarist, Andrew James O’Brien and singer/pianist/accordion player, Catherine Allan. They endear audiences with wide-eyed energy, pragmatic optimism, entwined harmonies and earnest mission for connection. Their polished performances have been creating significant buzz across Canada, earning the duo thousands of new fans. Their debut album, The Bliss, has already yielded four Music NL awards (Group of the Year, Album of the Year, Songwriter of the Year and Folk/Roots Recording of the Year), two national number one singles on CBC radio, three Canadian Folk Music Award nominations, and the duo was selected for the inaugural Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class program. Produced by ECMA winner Daniel Ledwell, The Bliss was recorded at Lake Echo in Nova Scotia, and features guest appearances by East Coast favorites Jenn Grant, Don Brownrigg and Kinley Dowling. The Bliss was released on JUNO Award winning songwriter, Rose Cousins’, record label Old Farm Pony Records on February 10, 2015.
