L’Harmonie des Saisons comprises young musicians and singers from Canada and abroad. They perform on period instruments under the musical direction of world-renowned New York conductor and harpsichordist, Eric Milnes. Multi-instrumentalist, Mélisande Corriveau, is the ensemble’s artistic director.
A native New Yorker, the imaginative and energized performances of conductor Eric Milnes have been applauded at the Utrecht, Bremen, Regensburg, Lufthansa, Passau, Boston, Mostly Mozart, Montréal, Vancouver, Ottawa, Berkeley, Santa Fe and San Francisco Early Music Festivals, and in performances in every major North American and European center. His degrees are from Columbia University, and The Juilliard School, both in New York. The critically acclaimed gambist, Mélisande Corriveau, is one of the most accomplished period stylists of her generation. In constant demand as a singularly versatile ensemble musician, she appears regularly in performance with some of the world’s most distinguished early music ensembles. She is also a renowned recorder virtuoso, and equally at home on the baroque cello. She has recorded over 20 compact discs for numerous labels.
