Hamilton-based Maple Blues award winning bluesman and 2013 JUNO Award winner Steve Strongman continues to make waves internationally and at home in Canada. His breakthrough 2012 release A Natural Fact was recognized as a standout blues and roots record with a whopping three 2012 Maple Blues Awards (Recording, Songwriter & Guitarist Of The Year) of the six for which it was nominated. The record was also recognized with the aforementioned 2013 JUNO Award for Blues Recording Of The Year. Strongman is a hometown hero in his adopted home of Hamilton: in 2010 he was chosen by the Hamilton Spectator as one of that city’s “Top 40 under 40”, has been featured on the cover of Hamilton Magazine twice, and had a total of eight nominations for Hamilton Music Awards in ‘09-10 winning Blues Recording Of The Year in ‘09. He also won the Mel Brown Blues Award in 2009 in his hometown of Kitchener. Throughout the years, Strongman has shared the stage with the international blues royalty including BB King, Buddy Guy, Johnny Winter, Mel Brown, Jimmie Vaughan, Joe Cocker, Robert Cray, Kim Wilson, Duke Robillard, Ronnie Earl, Roy Clark, Otis Clay, Sonny Landreth, and Jeff Healey to name a few.
