Winnipeg, Canada’s KEN MODE are a metallic noise rock with touches of post metal, hardcore, sludge and doom; a product of long, hard winters culminating in a sound that whips, pummels and lacerates its end users like a wicked Manitoba wind. The power trio bares only the essential ingredients necessary to deliver maximum impact and is an exercise in efficiency and ferocity that convincingly illustrates this is the way it should be.
The band has been aggressively smearing their filth since their inception in 1999 by touring all over Canada, the US and Europe with the likes of Pelican, Mastodon, Burnt By The Sun, Converge, Cursed, Baroness, Bison BC, and Propagandhi.
March 15, 2011 saw the release of the band’s most powerful work yet, VENERABLE, an album which has gotten accolades by notable publications such as Exclaim, NPR, Stereogum, Decibel magazine, Revolver magazine, and from all of the notable and most important heavy music blogs today along with getting play on CBC radio. Since the release of “VENERABLE, KEN MODE have been on tour non-stop, which has included their notable appearance at this year’s SXSW (which generated a lot of buzz) and their appearance at France’s biggest metal fest, Hellfest this past summer.
