2012 | Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year | Anvil | | The JUNO Awards

Anvil is one of the most influential metal bands in Canadian history. Best known for their ground breaking 1982 album METAL ON METAL, the band spent many years in obscurity before the release of their highly acclaimed documentary Anvil! The Story of Anvil, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2008. The band performed on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien in 2009 to mark the release of their CD and DVD, and went on to open several dates for AC/DC on their “Black Ice” World Tour. The film won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Documentary in 2010.

Since the release of the film, the band has been catapulted back into the spotlight and have toured around the globe numerous times, headlining their own tours and performing at the biggest metal festivals in the world.

Juggernaut of Justice was released in May 2011 and has been called ”the best album Anvil has made since Metal On Metal”. The album was produced by Bob Marlette and recorded at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in California.
