2012 | International Album of the Year | Coldplay | | The JUNO Awards

MYLO XYLOTO is Coldplay’s fourth consecutive studio album to debut at No. 1 atop the Canadian Nielsen SoundScan Album Chart. The album also debuted at No. 1 in the U.S. and the UK, topping the chart in 24 countries total. MYLO XYLOTO has also set the record for the highest first week album sales ever on the iTunes Store worldwide — a milestone Coldplay first achieved in 2008 with the release of VIVA LA VIDA, which was also the No.1 selling album worldwide that year, according to IFPI. Coldplay — comprising Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland, Will Champion and Chris Martin — has sold more than 50 million records worldwide and won numerous awards, including seven GRAMMY Awards, six Brit Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards and two JUNO Awards. In October 2011, Coldplay was voted Best Act in the World Today at the prestigious Q Awards in the UK, and the band have previously won six Q Awards. The band are up for three more GRAMMY Awards this year and a People’s Choice Award in the Favourite Band category. Coldplay launch their first North American tour in nearly three years in Edmonton on April 17. The tour currently includes eight Canadian shows.
