2012 | Instrumental Album of the Year | L’Orkestre des Pas Perdus | | The JUNO Awards

This is an explosive brass band that never seems to miss the beat, always looking for that little something to bring us into inventive, stimulating and refreshing territories. Orkestre des Pas Perdus (Lost Steps Orkestra) is a eight pieces brass band made up of a trombone, a trumpet, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones, a tuba, a french horn and drums under the direction composer-musician Claude St-Jean.
Full of humour, colored and highly energetic, this brass band draws from various contemporary currents and timeless material, breathing new and inventive dimensions into music, to the great delight of the audience.
Established in 1993, O.P.P. has produced 5 CDs : MAISON DOUCE MAISON, T’AURAS PAS TA POMME, MONDO CUIVRO, PROJET 9 and a fifth album L’AGE DU CUIVRE.
OPP has toured extensively in Canada performing at major festivals and has performed in Spain, Portugal, France, Mexico, USA and Taiwan over the past few years.
Original works freely inspired by jazz, funk, cinematic ambiances, edgy new music and unhinged brass work succeeds through solid, nuanced, arrangements, setting out an atmosphere and climate controlled by gifted musicians that is as revelatory in their live performance as on the latest CD opus, L’AGE DU CUIVRE.
