“Hello” is a song performed by French electronic music DJ and producer Martin Solveig, featuring vocals from Canadian electro-pop act Dragonette. The song was featured in Trident’s commercial for its new Vitality line of gum as well as on television in 90210, the Vampire Diaries, Gossip Girl, & covered by contestants on the X factor UK & American Idol. The song peaked at number one in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic and the Netherlands, while charting within the top 10 in ten countries. It also reached number one on the Hot Dance Club Songs chart in the United States in February 2011. Additionally, the song charted at number 46 on the Billboard Hot 100 in April 2011, becoming Solveig’s and Dragonette’s first appearance on the chart. It has since been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of over 1,000,000 units.
