Originally from Saddle Lake First Nation, Alberta, Randy Wood is a Cree artist recognized throughout North America as a respected singer, songmaker and grass dancer. In the last several years, Randy has created a new style of singing and song that has earned him listeners across the globe. On his first solo recording, ROUND DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY, Randy showcased his artistry and songmaking skills by singing his original round dance songs. This recording received a nomination for Best Native American Music Album at the 2003 Grammy Awards. He was also nominated for Aboriginal Recording of the Year at the 2003 JUNO Awards. Randy continued his unique song styling with the following albums: ROUND DANCE BLUES, THERE ARE NO GOODBYES and OUR LOVE WILL NEVER DIE. His latest album, THE GIFT OF LIFE, is another tour de force from this gifted artist.
