On Thursday, February 18, 2010, a diverse group of 57 Canadian artists gathered at The Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, BC to re-record of hip-hop artist K’NAAN’s “Wavin’ Flag.” This rendition, which has become an anthem for Canada’s Haitian relief efforts, was performed live by K’NAAN and an all-star cast on April 18th at the 2010 JUNO Awards from St. John’s, NL. Produced by Canadian music icon, Bob Ezrin (Peter Gabriel, Alice Cooper, KISS, Pink Floyd), and made possible by the support of the Slaight family, some of the talented musicians that lent their voices for Young Artists For Haiti include: Justin Bieber, Jully Black, Pierre Bouvier from Simple Plan, Broken Social Scene, Tyler Connelly from Theory Of A Deadman, Fefe Dobson, Drake, Elisapie Isaac, Esthero, Nelly Furtado, Emily Haines from Metric, Jacob Hoggard from Hedley, Ima, Chin Injeti, K’NAAN, Pierre LaPointe, Avril Lavigne, Lights, Matt Mays, Justin Nozuka, Kardinal Offishall, Sam Roberts, Serena Ryder, Deryck Whibley from Sum 41, Hawksley Workman and Nikki Yanofsky.
