As a 90’s baby, Jutes consistently pulls inspiration from the alt-rock bands he grew up loving, such as Nirvana, Radiohead, and Smashing Pumpkins. Though he first connected with hip-hop and R&B while living in Toronto in his late teens, after moving to LA to couch surf, Jutes signed to Capitol and began making trap-infused pop-punk. The newest chapter of his story has taken a darker and more cinematic tone. In a nod to his original influences, Jutes released a grunge rock album in May 2023.
Jutes’ most recent and some may say “breakthrough” album, Sleepyhead, helped catapult him to new heights in the genre, quickly gaining traction across social media. Title track “Sleepyhead” exploded on DSPs, broke onto the alt radio chart, and became Jutes’ first-ever song to chart on both Billboard and Mediabase (#23). With over 85 million global streams and counting, Sleepyhead firmly establishes Jutes as a rising force in the rock scene.
This momentum continues in 2025, with a string of standout singles including “Red Velvet” with Ari Abdul, “House of Cards,” and “SMUT” — collectively on pace to deliver the biggest year of his career. Jutes recently sold out his debut US headline run and is confirmed for both East and West Coast Warped Tours later this year.
