START DATE: January 5, 2026 
COMPENSATION: $17.60/hour 

ORGANIZATION SUMMARY 

The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) was formed in 1975 to preserve and enhance the Canadian music industry and to contribute towards higher artistic and industry standards. CARAS’ mandate is comprised of four key pillars: Educate through our music education charity MusiCounts’ programs and initiatives, Develop emerging artists through mentorship and development programs, Celebrate Canadian artists through The JUNO Awards and other year-round initiatives, and Honour music industry icons through the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. 

OVERALL POSITION 

CARAS is seeking an organized, creative, and passionate intern to support the Events team in the lead-up to the 2026 JUNO Awards. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled, enthusiastic and dedicated individual who desires to learn and is interested in the Canadian music industry. This is a hybrid role, with the candidate required to work from our Liberty Village office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and as needed. 

This position will require travel to Hamilton from March 24-30, 2026 for the JUNO Awards. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assist with planning and executing a variety of CARAS and JUNO Week events Coordinate logistics such as food and beverage, venue details, suppliers, rentals, and volunteer planning 
  • Prepare and contribute to key documents including run-of-shows, rehearsal schedules, production schedules, stage plots, and talent advances 
  • Support budget tracking and expense reconciliation 
  • Assist with project tracking for event execution 
  • Provide administrative support within the Events team as needed 
  • Support on-site operations during events, including setup, guest services, artist relations, and troubleshooting in fast-paced environments

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Previous experience or strong interest in event planning and production
  • Outstanding attention to detail 
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Canva 
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Highly resourceful with strong time management skills 
  • Professional, organized, and able to juggle multiple priorities at once Comfortable working on-site and navigating busy event environments
  • Canadian music lover
