Whether you’re an emerging artist, a seasoned producer, or part of the team behind the scenes, now’s the time to get your music in front of the country. Submissions for The 2026 JUNO Awards officially open on September 22, 2025 and artists and industry professionals alike are encouraged to start preparing now.
Here’s what’s new and everything you need to know to submit:
The 2026 JUNO Awards will include a brand-new category: Latin Music Recording of the Year, celebrating the vibrant contributions of Latin artists to Canada’s cultural and musical identity. This crossover category is open to all Latin genres and languages, giving artists a well-deserved spotlight on Canada’s biggest music stage.
CARAS is also updating submission guidelines for Rap Album/EP of the Year and Rap Single of the Year. Beginning this year, vocalists must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents to be eligible. This change ensures that the spotlight remains on homegrown talent and supports the continued growth of Canada’s thriving hip-hop community.
Timing is everything especially when it comes to JUNO submissions. Stay ahead of the game by marking these key dates in your calendar. Missing a deadline could mean missing your chance to have your music recognized, so plan ahead and take advantage of early bird rates.
To be considered for nomination for The 2026 JUNO Awards, national music release dates must fall between the eligibility period of September 1, 2024 and November 7, 2025.
To make sure you’re set up for success, take time to review the latest submission guidelines and category updates in advance of submissions opening. From eligibility requirements to technical details, knowing what’s new can help you avoid surprises and submit with confidence. Start gathering your materials now to ensure your submission is complete, polished, and ready to shine.
