Breaking onto the reggae scene with a distinct soulful and jazzy sound, Josemar has come a long way from using buckets, sticks, pots and pans to make music. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Josemaris a well-rounded performer currently residing in Toronto, Canada. At the age of ten, Josemar began writing poetry which soon evolved into the skill of writing musical lyrics to be performed in his first platform at the church choir. Gaining inspiration from the likes of Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Bob Marley, and Robert Johnson, this musician draws a bridge from then to now with eloquently told stories of everyday life portrayed in his music. Like a Michelangelo of sounds, images of his words are painted on the canvas of your mind to be admired from a new perspective.
Josemar’s passion for music has grown over time. With that growth, he has cultivated the skill of gaining insight from common unavoidable situations and transposing them into feel-good music that everyone can relate to in one way or another. Josemar has released two singles within the past year and is steadily working on his upcoming EP.
