Mandroid Echostar are a six piece progressive metal band from Guelph, Ontario. Formed in 2010 by the first members Matt Huber-Kidby, Sam Pattison and Adam Richards. The three came together as like minded musicians from the local scene, who saw the potential in each other to create band that they had all envisioned. They began to lay the foundation for the sound, and with the additions of Stephen Richards, James Krul and Michael Ciccia over the course of 2011, they together created a sonic representation of themselves and each other. After recording their first four song EP the band took to the road and toured across Canada for the next year gaining fans in every city they went. They then successfully crowd-funded their second EP Citadels, which came with plenty of high praise and big show opportunities. The album also caught the attention of Canadian Metal Label Distort whom they quickly signed with and began recording their first full length album. Coral Throne was the album and it was produced and recorded by canadian heavyweight Eric Ratz. That album saw the band earn great reviews and plays on University radio, not to mention their first U.S. tour. It is still gaining plenty of attention with no show of slowing down. The band is ready to follow up Coral Throne in the new year, with their second full length offering and are gearing up to hit the road again early 2017.
