Steele’s versatility defies restriction to any one genre; his music career has expanded from its humble beginning in Jamaica to him now headlining many festivals in Canada-- the place he has called home for many years. Steele continues to be one of the most requested reggae artist for live performances. He has appeared on festivals such as: Jambana, Caribana, Island Soul at the Harbourfront Centre, Winnipeg Caribbean Festival, and the Calgary Reggae Festival… just to name a few. Internationally, Steele has performed in Africa and in Jamaica at Reggae Sumfest, and Rebel Salute. In 2004, he released his first CD, UNCORRUPTED, which won him a JUNO nomination for Reggae Recording of the Year. In 2007 his sophomore CD,THE LOVE OF JAH, garnered him awards for, Best Male Vocalist of the Year, Best Songwriter of the Year, Top CD/Album of the Year, and Artist of the Year by the Reggae Music Achievement Awards (RMAA). In 2009, Steele released his bestselling CD, THE MAN; THE MUSIC. In 2011, he was honored by the Irie Music Awards as Male Reggae Artist of the Year. Steele is steadfast on making Canada one of the biggest global markets for reggae.
