Meet The Winners of the 2018 Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class!

Sep 27, 2017

Five music industry pros walk into a room with one goal: to whittle down a crop of 10 talented emerging artists to three winners. After an intense day of deliberation, the votes have been cast and the results are in! We’re thrilled to introduce you to the winners of the third annual Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class:

Caveboy is a three-piece dream-pop group from Montreal, QC. Check out their music video for “Raconteur”!

Ivory Hours

Hailing from London, ON, Ivory Hours brings their distinct alternative rock sound to the Master Class. Watch their music video for “Shadow Kids”!

Quake Matthews

A hip-hop artist from Halifax, NS, Quake Matthews brings some east coast flair to the mix. Check out his music video for “Just Another Love Story”!

The three winners were determined by our Super Jury comprising of JUNO-winning artists Kardinal Offishall, Lights, and Max Kerman (Arkells), JUNO-winning producer Gavin Brown, Ali Slaight (Talent Development Coordinator, Slaight Music), and Allan Reid (President & CEO, CARAS/The JUNO Awards & MusiCounts). JUNO TV captured the Super Jury deliberations. Watch how they chose the three winners below!

Caveboy, Ivory Hours, and Quake Matthews will be coming to Toronto in October for an all-inclusive mentorship week hosted by Canada’s Music Incubator at Coalition Music.

Partners of the 2018 Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class are Slaight Music, Canada’s Music Incubator at Coalition Music, Manitoba Film and Music and the Canadian Federation of Musicians (CFM).
