Overall Position: The Manager of Academy Operations is responsible for managing the collection, verification and integrity of submissions, adjudication, industry and artist relations. The MAO also manages ticketing planning and execution for all public and private events.
- Manage the nominating and voting (N&V) process of all awards, and programs where required
- Manage the review of categories and genres yearly to ensure alignment with and reflection of the diverse and evolving landscape of Canadian music
- Work with tabulation accountants to ensure policies and procedures are in place that adhere to integrity objectives.
- Manage all processes related to the Music Advisory Committees and Judges
- Create tools/workshops on submissions and other processes
- Maintain and manage the yearly schedule of all functions for N&V and ticketing
- Manage all ticketing operations for events as required, including planning, execution, leading external relationships, and reporting
- Manage distribution of statuettes for all JUNO winners and special award recipients
- Work with submission and voting site platform to ensure all yearly updates are completed and both sites run efficiently
- Plan, approve and monitor departmental budgets and revenue
- Stay current on trends and changes in the music industry
- Serve our academy delegates and the music industry at large
- Well-developed working knowledge and passion for the Canadian music industry
- Advocate for emerging talent and diversity
- Demonstrated ability to convert data into strategic action and improved client service
- Experience with ticketing systems for large scale events
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Team player focused on cross-functional collaboration.
