DESCRIPTION

The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (“CARAS”) is seeking a highly motivated candidate for the role of Coordinator, Marketing. Reporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications, this role involves planning and executing marketing and strategies for our major properties including, The JUNO Awards, The Canadian Music Hall of Fame and the Allan Slaight JUNO Master Class. The successful candidate will be energetic, focused, highly motivated, well organized, and will possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the Director, Marketing & Communications to determine and develop on-going promotional priorities and execute all marketing campaigns
  • Contribute to the development of marketing promotions and initiatives, including briefing creative and content teams, and delivering materials to promotional partners
  • Coordinate asset delivery and approvals with external partners and manage marketing partner deliverables and programs by maintaining marketing assets schedule
  • Draft and edit copy for marketing materials for a variety of mediums (e.g. advertisements, newsletters, collateral, etc)
  • Plan & execute email marketing strategy
  • Create and distribute supporting marketing/media kits for all external announcements. 
  • Work cross-functionally with the digital media team for marketing content distribution
  • Work closely with other internal teams like Events/Academy Operations and Partnerships on Marketing-related needs and deliverablesTrack and report on project milestones and deliverables to ensure project objectives are met and work stays on schedule
  • Help develop communication/marketing plan for events and programs
  • Support other members of the Marketing and Communications team as required

TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS

  • Post-Secondary degree/diploma with a focus on marketing preferred
  • A minimum of one year work experience in the Marketing and Communications fields with a strong digital focus
  • Experience with an email marketing service (Mailchimp), experience with Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Drive – Docs, Sheets, Hangouts, Keep etc.), CRM and Project Management software (Wrike)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • A team-focused mindset and approach
  • Comfortable working autonomously as well as with cross-disciplinary teams
  • Experience planning and implementing communication tactics with consideration for audience, message development and measurement
  • Attention to detail and experience with copy editing and proofreading
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, and coordinate multiple projects under strict deadlines
  • Be resourceful and intuitive in helping to solve problems
  • A passion for the breadth and diversity of Canadian Music and culture
  • Possess an understanding of the music and/or cultural industries is an asset
  • Bilingualism is an asset
