The primary reason to join CARAS is to receive JUNO Awards voting privileges. CARAS members are eligible to vote in 14 different categories. Voting is such an important part of the awards process, we feel that every person involved in the Canadian music industry should be participating to ensure an industry driven voting process. CARAS members also receive a discounted JUNO Awards submission rate.
Please note: You must register by December 1, 2013 to receive voting privileges for the Single of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Group of the year categories. You must be registered by January 31, 2014 to receive voting privileges for the 14 member voted categories for The 2014 JUNO Awards.
As well, you will receive a subscription to the CARAS News and MusiCounts News which are published three times a year. These newsletters are packed with JUNO Award news, MusiCounts updates and industry happenings.
CARAS Membership for the 2013-14 year runs from August 1st 2013 to July 31st 2014. Membership is non-transferable. The annual membership fee is: $50 plus HST ($56.50 total). You may register at any time.
You must be actively working in the Canadian music industry and hold a Canadian birth certificate, passport or are Canadian Landed Immigrant(s) with residency in Canada to qualify for membership

AVLA pays out Neighbouring Rights and Private Copying royalties to the master rights owner as well as licensing royalties.
