FRANCOPHONE ALBUM OF THE YEAR | Fred Fortin | | The JUNO Awards

Revealed in 1996 with Joseph Antoine Frédéric Fortin Perron, an album which earned him immediately a success of esteem, critical approval and a hard core of fans, Fred Fortin made his mark as head of various musical projects. Five albums have appeared under his name. In 2010, Plastrer la lune is retained on the long list of prestigious Polaris Prize and won two GAMIQ: “Album Song” and “Songwriter of the Year.” His most recent album Ultramarr was released in the winter of 2016. Fortin is the bassist of the group Galaxy led by fiery singer and guitarist Olivier Langevin, from the beginning of the adventure around the year 2000. In 2015 Galaxie won two important Félix at Gala de l'ADISQ: “Group of the Year” and “Alternative Album”. When the call of the large abrasive rock and want to get out the heavy artillery is heard, Fortin plays music with the now legendary Gros Mené, crazy-wild project in which he became a rock beast. Since 2014, Fortin sign the original music and sound design for the comedy show Les beaux malaises.
