1984 | Canadian Music Hall of Fame | The Diamonds | | The JUNO Awards

The longest-running of the three vocal groups inducted in 1984, The Diamonds performed with various lineups well into their sixth decade. Although they hit the Top 10 only three times — with “Little Darlin” (No. 2), “The Stroll” (No. 4) and “Silhouettes” (No. 10), all Gold records released in 1957 — they had a total of 15 Top 40 hits between 1956 and 1961.

The group made numerous television appearances on such programs as The Steve Allen Show and American Bandstand — on which they were guests 33 times — and their music was featured on the soundtracks for the film American Graffiti and the series Happy Days.

Their biggest hit, “Little Darlin,” has sold approximately 20 million copies over the years.
