JUNOfest Submissions Open Today!

Artists perform in a two-night musical celebration as part of JUNO Week

Calgary, AB (December 8, 2015) — The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) requests artist submissions for JUNOfest, presented by CBCMusic.ca. The annual musical festival will showcase the best Canadian artists in venues across Calgary on Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2 as part of JUNO Week 2016.

Submissions will be accepted between December 8, 2015 and January 29, 2016 (5PM MST).

The 45th annual JUNO Awards and JUNO Week will be held in Calgary, Alberta, March 28-April 3, 2016.

  

About JUNOfest:

WHAT:

JUNOfest is a two-night music festival that is one of the signature events of JUNO Week. The live festival will feature the talents of regional and national artists representing the many genres that make up Canadian music.

Nearly half of the participating line-up will be chosen locally to highlight Alberta’s diverse music scene, in addition to performances from 2016 JUNO Award nominees and some of Canada’s national touring acts.

JUNOfest is open to Canadian artists only. A $20 application fee will apply.

JUNOfest will be produced by Patrick McGannon/PM GIGS.

 

WHEN:

JUNOfest will take place at more than 15 venues across Calgary on Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2.

JUNOfest has showcased more than 1,000 artists and bands of all backgrounds and genres including: African Guitar Summit, Alexisonfire, Anvil, Arkells, Bedouin Soundclash, Billy Talent, Cancer Bats, Classified, Danny Fernandes, Deep Dark Woods, Divine Brown, D-Sisive, Doc Walker, Down with Webster, Elliott Brood, Elizabeth Shepherd, Feist, Fucked Up, The Gryphon Trio, Handsome Furs, Hey Rosetta!, Hollerado, Jane Bunnett, Jim Cuddy, Jully Black, Julie Doiron, Kardinal Offishall, Karl Wolf, Kellylee Evans, KENmode, Little Miss Higgins, Marianas Trench, Matt Mays, Metric, MSTRKRFT, NQ Arbuckle, Plants and Animals, The Sadies, Said the Whale, Saint Alvia, Sam Roberts, Shad, The Sheepdogs, Shout Out Out Out Out, Silverstein, Sloan, Tanya Tagaq, Ten Second Epic, Thornley, Two Hours Traffic, The Wailin’ Jennys, Wintersleep, and hundreds more.
